Although we’re well into the second year of the current console generation, the summer ahead appears to be somewhat subdued when it comes to the arrival of major blockbuster game releases. However, for those adventurous gamers willing to delve a bit deeper into the gaming landscape, there’s a hidden trove of captivating experiences waiting to be unearthed.
Tech enthusiasts can rejoice with the new iPhone release date confirmed to be just around the corner by Apple. The big event is slated to occur on 9th September 2024, 01:00 PM ET (USA) / 10:30 AM IST (India), at the Steve Jobs Theatre at Apple Park. The invite to this keynote has revealed little, featuring a neon-style logo and the tagline “It’s Glowtime.”
A Change from the Routine
Tuesday, since the very first iPhone launch, has been a favoured day for new releases for Apple. However, this year, the launch date is one day early on a Monday. Numerous reasons are cited, whether it is the clash with the televised presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump scheduled for Tuesday, or the fact that Apple wants to be unpredictable and nimble.

What to Expect from the iPhone Launch Event
In addition to the new iPhone 16 series, Apple is also expected to announce the Apple Watch Series 10 and Watch Ultra 3, AirPods 4, and AirPods Max 2. We should also receive more insights on Apple Intelligence.
Newest iPhone model: iPhone 16 series
With the announcement of Apple Intelligence back in June, the new iPhone 16 will be the first in its series to feature the brand’s latest generative AI tools. You will most likely experience a smarter SIRI, with AI integrated with AI apps including genmojis, iphotos, maps, imovie and more. This integration marks a significant milestone for Apple in the AI arena, gearing up to lock horns with industry giants like Google and Microsoft.
Apart from the AI integration, the iPhone 16 series is expected to feature a number of hardware upgrades and cosmetic changes. The new A18 chip will power all the models of the new series. They may also introduce a dedicated camera button, a reconfigured Mute Switch, and a 5x zoom periscopic telephoto camera for the Pro models. Cosmetic changes such as rear camera alignment and a new colour option for the Pro line may also be expected.

Apple Watch Series 10 and Watch Ultra 3

While the iPhone 16 is the flagship launch of the event, it will also feature the introduction of the Apple Watch Series 10 with updated additions compared to the previous model. The base model will likely be increased from 41mm to 45mm, and the ultra-model may see an increase from 45mm to 49mm. With probably larger displays, the OLED panels may also be incorporated with LPTO technology for dynamic refresh rate adjustment.
The new Apple Watch Ultra 3, powered by S10 chip, may come with AI processing capabilities.
AirPods 4 and AirPods Max 2
The 4th gen AirPods are speculated to include a standard and an entry-level model. The second-gen AirPods Max should include all the features from the previous model, with minimal design changes and additional colour options.
